Module: Police
Police is a module used during the Pre-Event and At-Event phases, giving law enforcement direct, self-service access to the event information they need to plan and coordinate their role in the event — without waiting on manually compiled documents or ad-hoc requests to the organizer.
How It Works
Police access Sabin online, the same conversational interface used by other roles, but scoped to the data relevant to their function.
What Police Can Access
| Locations | All course-relevant points (from Course Management: crossroads, control points, aid stations, etc.), each reachable via one-click navigation. |
| Schedule | Event timing, including start times and expected timing windows. |
| Timing | The calculated timetable and cut-off times generated by Course Management, so police know exactly when a road needs to be closed and when it can reopen. |
| Road closures | Live status per location (open, closed, pending) — the same data tracked in Course Management. |
| Ambulance coordination | Shared visibility with medical/emergency services on relevant locations and timing. |
| Connection to Security module | Ties into the emergency workflow, so police are part of the response chain if an emergency alert is triggered. |
| Road damage reports | The same photo-documented damage list from Course Management, relevant to police if damage affects road safety or closure decisions. |
| Passive messages | Organizer announcements relevant to police, available on request within the chat. |
| Push messages | Urgent updates pushed directly to police, without needing to check the chat. |
| Sending messages | Police can also actively send messages themselves (passive or push), e.g. to alert the organizer or other authorities about a situation on the ground. |
Why This Module Matters
Historically, coordinating with police has meant producing a separate static document (as with the Belitung documentation package — road closure times, start/finish logistics, etc., written specifically for an authority audience in a precise, factual tone). Police as a Sabin module turns that static, one-time document into a live, queryable, two-way channel — the same underlying data (locations, timing, closures) stays current automatically instead of needing to be re-issued whenever plans change.
Relationship to Course Management
Police relies heavily on Course Management as its data source — locations, timing calculations, the Buku PDF, road closure status, and damage reports all originate there. Police is best understood as a role-scoped view into Course Management data, plus its own messaging channel, rather than an independent data source.
